evaluation
in this section i write about the evaluation of my fmp
introduction
introduction-my fmp is all about humour and how a bizarre setting and world can create an off feeling which adds to the absurd comedy of it. its a long film clocking in around thirteen minutes and relies heavily on weird dialogue to keep the pace moving fast.

strengths
1. it has a lot of content which is a given since it has a long running time
2. it has a lot of personality and it conveys well when watching it.
3.some shots are very experimental and lend themselves well to the atmosphere of the film.
4. the soundtrack is incredible including a lot of varied and well fitting songs which makes the long film fly by even faster , it also makes the emotion of the fmp very clear with songs fitting the tone and also adding to it.
5. this part is subjective but for the target audience I'm sure its very funny and weird which adds to its comedy
weakness's
1. the length of the film could be a double edged sword when it comes to quick enjoyment.
2. some scenes are shot in a different style such as the two pov shots which might confuse some people.
3.the editing is very quick and that might be disorienting some times.
4. the dialogue wasn't recorded very well some sometimes its hard to hear what the characters are saying.
5. the lighting is very different at some scenes causing continuity to be weird in the process.
themes

the theming for my fmp was insanity and surrealism, when writing the characters and plot I thought heavily about how i could make them weird and un human like, to give the film a feeling of bizarreness and an off kilter presence. I was inspired by films and series like the filthy frank show(which is what the people on the sides are from). another inspiration was a amateurish film called the toxic avenger THE TOXIC AVENGER [Vintage Theatrical Trailer - AGFA] - YouTube.

this film just like the toxic avenger is also a bizarre comedy which doesn't really fit into only one genre such as my fmp. another theme which i took inspiration from is German expressionism and how unrestrained it is compared to all the other art around it, I feel like my film can relate to that aspect among other things.
experiments
the experimentation done for the fmp included short recording sessions seeing how well the costume design worked and also recording the voice from just out of the camera. the conclusion was I could get away with just recording noise from the camera which would also be more quick and efficient for the time i had for filming.
comparison

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3GsQmA8UJqQ
my movie is similar to a film called super which has similar themes of heroic things happening in a very twisted world. super does this on a bigger budget and takes itself a bit more serious which is where the differences start, also the protagonist in super is much more grounded in reality than spectrum is in his film.
key areas of development
the key areas for this project were definitely the original script which i wrote a week before production and the storyboard as well.
the actual shooting of the film.
and of course the editing period which took around a three day duration. all of these aspects were key to the films eventual making
proposal
the journey from proposal to end product was pretty smooth including pretty much all which i had planned for, excluding a few notable things including the original intro which was going to be a star wars like text crawl explaining the context of the future.
everything else in the proposal was left intact in some way or another which was a good sign when filming.
