the rest of reflections
week 11
this week was the first of the many to prepare for our one minute short film so there wasn't much going besides creating a mind map and watching documentaries such as the Greyson Perry one. not much to reflect on besides how the mind map helped gather ideas and the start of them for the film.
week 13
after conducting the research I writ up my findings first part of the week, after came the important part the pre production paper work which used up most my time on this project since it includes a lot of different types of planning such as generating ideas and finalising them before the deadline another example of work this week was the timetable for shooting the one minute short film
week 15
this week was dedicated mostly to editing the video we filmed and i found it fairly easy thanks to the previous lessons on it espicially the music which i thought would be hard.
after that came the evaluation where we were given questions...not much to say other than i answered them
week 12
this week was more packed and busy then the last, first we tested ideas with the audience and got feedback on how to improve them for my film that wasn't really needed since i had a pretty strong idea to begin with this was also reflected in my results for the activity.
creating a research was new and i finished that with not many problems either in this we just had to research other short films and how they were made, we then conducted the research
week 14
this week was production and it was the main part of this entire task so it was important to finish before the deadline, first i got the camera and brought it to the house to film the one minute short film. it was pretty simple and not taxing at all not much to say either
week 16
semester 2
this week began with a different semester which focused mainly on the history and evolution of film
we began by examining three examples of classic film and the way they were different from the modern counter part
after that we did yet again another practical this one was suppose to display how these types of old films looked and there narrative.
i chose to set it around a poker game with no dialogue just action just like those old films
week 17
this week was also dedicated to the evolution of film, this time focusing on two early film examples and analysing them. are practical task was to recreate partie de cartes only using classic film techniques to show we understand the difference between them and modern day
week 19
i was not in this week do to me coughing my lungs up and sneezing every second. but it was about sound again more specifically foley
week 21
for two weeks we were given a task to choose and aspeact of film evolution such as editing and create a two minute video essay on it, the work included
research
script writting
recording audio
and then the most important part editing was the longest part of the task although a very fun and educational experience. educational because i now know how youtubers make the videos they do
week 18
this week in evolution we looked at sound and how it started. the practical was to add our own sound to a mickey mouse short that being the classic steam boat willie which is interesting because its animation and not live action. the task was pretty simple at first but only using paper really stopped all the choices for sound i had
week 20
this week we were given the opportunity to choose three shots from films we know and critically analyse the colour theory behind them. next after that the practical was to make our own film again with significant colour theory behind it. all and all a pretty fun and easy task
